An OT Driver Assessment is a structured evaluation completed by an Occupational Therapist Driver Assessor. We review vision, cognition and physical skills off-road, then complete an on-road assessment in real traffic. You receive clear feedback and recommendations—this may include continuing to drive, further training, vehicle adaptations, or planning alternative transport. Licensing decisions remain with the road authority.

We welcome referrals from GPs, specialists, case managers, NDIS providers, and families. Assessments are available through private funding and NDIS.

Your licensing authority (VicRoads) makes the final decision, using the OT Driver report and your medical information.
Driving lessons and assessments must be conducted in a qualified Driving Instructor’s vehicle equipped with dual pedal controls to ensure safety and compliance with VicRoads requirements.
Not at all. It’s a supportive, step-by-step process designed to keep you comfortable and confident.
